Can You Hire a Marquee in Winter?
Well, the short answer is yes. There are a few factors you would want to consider and once they have been taken into consideration, an outdoor winter marquee event can be super unique and attainable.
Choose the right location
The location of your marquee continues to be something to consider, but in the winter, the type of ground and access are more important. During the British summer, wedding and event organisers may have to deal with rain. Winter events will also require preparation for ice and, possibly, snow. In these cases, the ground may become difficult or unattainable to reach during the marquee construction. If your event is on hard ground, erecting the marquee will be quite simple. In either instance, arrangements must be made to ensure that guests arrive safely at the site, which may need the installation of outdoor weather-proof flooring and lighting.
Our marquee team will be able to advise and plan in accordance to circumstances on arrival to a site visit.
Select appropriate heating
We recommend our indirect marquee heaters for your winter events. These are in our experience the most appropriate heating style to keep your marquee warm and guests comfortable. These marquee heaters are placed outside and provide a clean, warm and dry draft of air into the marquee via vents ensuring the humidity doesn’t rise. Also, temperature can be controlled via a thermostat which is why it’s our favourite form of heating the marquee for your event.

What are your lighting options?
There is several ways in which you can provide lighting to your winter marquee event. These include chandeliers, fairy lights, uplights etc.
Our favourite and most common practise is the chandeliers as these provide the best ambiance and feel for the winter. This generally compliments the theme and event.
Bonus tip- Ensure there is adequate lighting for walkways, entrances and exits to ensure guests can explore your event safely.
Consider different flooring options
Flooring is important for marquee hires- especially in the winter as grounds can be affected differently subject to the weather.
We always recommend our sub flooring for corporate events and hardboard flooring for our domestic, intimate winter marquee events. Our sub flooring is perfect to level uneven grounds, providing a seemless feel throughout, where our hard board flooring is suitable to add that extra bit of stability- especially on grass where guests may be wearing heels for your special event.
